Agree the result. Build in stages. Test before launch.
You know what the first version will do, what it will not do, what access is required and how success will be tested before implementation begins.
1. Understand the current process
We review where the work begins, who owns it, which systems are involved, approximate volume, current failures and desired timing.
2. Design the first version
For complex work, a paid design phase produces the process map, data flow, delivery plan, risks, exclusions and test scenarios.
3. Fix the scope and price
The proposal names the workflow, integrations, responsibilities, dependencies, milestones, exclusions and how future changes will be handled.
4. Show working stages
You review real scenarios during the build instead of discovering the system only at the end.
5. Test and launch
Your team runs the agreed acceptance scenarios before production. Alerts, documentation and recovery responsibility are active at launch.
6. Support and improve
Ongoing support covers a defined live system. New improvements use an agreed monthly allowance or a separate scope.
